Albums
Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.

Before the formation of Toto the band, members performed session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs album from 1975 Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 in the wake of the collaboration.
The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked a departure from the more progressive sound of their previous albums, and was criticised for the absence of hit singles. In 1985, the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen quit the group, and they held auditions to find a replacement frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.
In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by scouring through old tapes and demos to release a special edition called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans and the band embarked upon an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
Shem von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as the drummer during the tour in support of the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set called Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.

Keyboardist Paich was regular on albums by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
In 1998, Toto began working on a special project called Old Is New. This album included three new tracks as well as several recordings of songs from the past. The album received a lot of attention worldwide and the band went on a worldwide tour to promote it.
